Marvin Gaye: Here My Dear - 1978

This long-winded album is a musical kiss-off to estranged wife Anna Gordy. It has received much criticism over the years for being the work of an embittered ex but I find it quite delightfully indulgent in places.

Gaye was pretty drugged up at the time and you can tell on some of his rants, such as the beautifully bonkers A Funky Space ReincarnationIt is not without its mildly humorous moments too, particularly when he tries to turn his new lover on to a new drug concoction he has come across on Falling In Love Again. The standout track is When Did You Stop Loving Me/When Did I Stop Loving You?
